… to always tell patrons exactly when their reserves books will be due. Be specific. Say, "These are due Monday morning at 10," or "This will be due in two hours" (or even better, "This will be due at 4:35 today").
Also, make sure that the date & time stamped on the card in the back of the book always matches the date & time in Voyager as well as the date & time that you tell the patron.
Otherwise, patrons don’t understand when their books are actually due and end up with exorbitant late fines that aren’t necessarily their fault.
If you make a habit of consistency between what Voyager says, what the stamp says, and what you say, we will be providing a better service to all of our library users and will avoid having understandably upset and/or irate patrons!
