The Burke Theological Library will host poet and Columbia professor Eleanor Johnson, reading from her new book of poetry, Her Many Feathered Bones.
Her Many Feathered Bones is a collaborative experiment in slow dialogue. Wishing to integrate visual and verbal art in a way that would privilege neither form over the other, Dr. Johnson began this project with a small number of drawings and a single poem; the drawings generated several new poems and six new drawings. Her Many Feathered Bones is a romance, a collection of love songs between visuality and sound, between shapes and words, between graphic space and lyrical time.
