The Technical Services Librarians (TSL) Committee began this blog in spring 2021 to help highlight the often unseen work of purchasing resources, cataloging them, and preparing them for patron access.  If you’d like to write a post, please send us your ideas; use the same form to send us ideas for programming.

Since even many of our fellow librarians don’t understand what their colleagues in technical services units are doing, we would be happy to have the blog serve as a platform for sharing what you do both in your core job functions, as well as any special projects work that you are involved in.  The blog can also serve as a forum to share with colleagues and with the broader CUL community information on new developments within technical services, including reports on conferences and other educational sessions.  We would welcome contributions from all staff engaged in technical services work, including officers and union staff.
